MY AURA IS YELLOW?

I've always been quite house-proud. I blame my mum and the fact that growing up, I was always taught that you should never let anyone into your house without it looking perfect. Now also factor in that we're both Virgoans and I think you catch my drift. Not that I'm a clean-freak by any means. I've been known to leave the dishes in the sink during the hectic work-week, and my little Yaris looks I've been living out of it, but generally speaking I do like everything in its place.

Until a few months ago, I was living in a little studio in Thai Town, East Hollywood, that can only be described as CHARMING. I fell in love with it the moment I clapped eyes on the cute little accents - the built-in breakfast nook, ornate light fixings, red vintage stove - to name a few. Looking back, I don't know how I managed to fit a huge sectional couch, coffee table, writing desk, full bed and 42-inch TV in one tiny room, but somehow I did. And I made it look killer. What can I say? I love a good challenge.

In March of this year, I came to the realization that I had outgrown my studio and ended up moving a few blocks down the street to an adorable 1-bedroom apartment in neighbouring Los Feliz. I love my new place. I especially love that it's a stone's throw away from Griffith Park and my favourite breakfast haunt, Cafe Figaro. It has a front yard, lots of windows that let in copious amounts of natural light, three large closets, a huge kitchen, and best of all, my living room is no longer my bedroom! Finally! I have a boudoir again after almost two years.

My mind is racing with ideas for decorating my new bedroom. I've been really inspired by black, white and pops of yellow. Modern, dramatic with nods to the 60's. Think Jonathan Adler meets James Bond meets London Ly. I'm thinking about putting wallpaper on one of the walls...we'll see.... Excited about this one. Watch this space!
